Fashion Fabric Pumpkins with Dana Fong (Zoom and Facebook Live), 10/27/2022 @ 4 PM

Join IAMA and our resident artist, Dana Fong, in this month’s virtual youth workshop to fashion a fun fall craft– fabric pumpkins!

Tired of buying plastic Halloween decor that doesn’t last more than a year? Grab your kids and tune in to turn the extra fabric around your home into a fun Fall craft! Dana will guide us through the process of crafting these fabric pumpkins step-by-step. In this class, students will be using their creative and hand-motor skills to craft and learn the basics of sewing.

Event Materials: 8” x 8” Fabric (any kind), scissors, a sewing needle, thread, and a stem (ex. branch, pumpkin stem, or pipe cleaners)

Event Schedule:

  • 5 minutes – Introduction
  • 2 minutes – Materials explanation
  • 45 minutes – Example
  • Questions / Show and Tell

Artist Biography:

Dana has been an instructor for the past 10 years, teaching various workshops specializing in succulent terrariums, watercolor, card making, fimo clay, and more. She is also a graphic designer, face painter and artist located in the Bay Area. She has been an artist in residence for IAMA since 2021.
