Jojo Liu

Chinese calligraphy, as one of the oldest writing arts in the world, carries the profound heritage of Eastern culture and is truly a representative of Eastern art. Since childhood, under the careful guidance and inspiration of her grandfather, JoJo Liu embarked on a journey to explore the art of calligraphy.

Having lived in the United States for many years, JoJo Liu has reinterpreted traditional Chinese calligraphy in a modern way, driven by her passion for creative art, and has given it new vitality and forms of expression. JoJo Liu’s artworks, while inheriting the essence of traditional calligraphy, integrate modern elements, demonstrating a perfect fusion of tradition and modernity.

JoJo Liu is an instructor for the Chinese calligraphy course at Stanford University for the spring semester of 2025. She has always been committed to presenting the aesthetic charm of Chinese calligraphy to the local American audience in the form of modern art. She hopes this will inspire the public’s interest in and love for traditional Chinese culture, allowing this ancient art to continue to shine in the contemporary world.
