Daniel Vertangen was born in the city of the Hague, Holland. His art from the middle of the seventeenth century ranged a great deal in subject from mythology to portraiture, and biblical to landscapes. He was heavily influenced by Utrecht painter Cornelis Van Poelenburgh (1586-1667).
