Oil Painting

The museum’s oil paintings collection includes artworks by American, European, and Asian artists from the 17th century to as recent as 2017. These paintings give a retrospective look at the progression and changes in art from the past to the present. From allegorical paintings to luminist landscapes, these works offer a unique perspective on how the use of color, light, and rendering can be applied to change how the viewer relates to the works.
